The early adopters, according to the article, will have to pay about $3,200 per lens, excluding the costs of the surgery. As the lens will use a cataract surgery technique, with the average cost of this surgery being $3,000 per eye, our estimates, when the lens releases, could be in the $6,000 per eye range, including surgery, without any insurance coverage. This is just an estimate, and seeing the lens is not available just yet, we can update the costs posted by other patients in the future once the information is readily available. For now, this is an estimate based on guesstimates from other publications that were able to talk with the company.
Like any surgery, other factors can affect this cost, including the geographical region, your surgeon, the facility, the bill inclusions, your insurance and if any complications were to arise.
